Makro

Shipping and delivery

Last updated: 27 October 2026

This policy applies to physical goods ordered from Makro. The delivery options, destination and charges for your order must be agreed before payment. We do not promise a delivery service or area that is not offered for your order.

Destinations and delivery charges

Enter your full delivery address at checkout to see the available options. Availability can depend on the destination, product size and transport requirements. The applicable delivery charge and order total are shown before you confirm payment. Collection, installation or any special delivery service is included only when expressly stated.

If checkout does not offer a suitable option for a bulky appliance or your location, contact us before ordering. Any separately quoted service must be agreed with you; we will not add an undisclosed handling or delivery charge afterwards.

Dispatch and delivery timing

The applicable dispatch or delivery estimate is provided with the offer, at checkout or through an agreed quotation before purchase. Products on pre-order or with a different lead time must be identified as such. Ask us if a date is essential to your purchase so we can confirm whether it can be agreed.

For an electronic order governed by section 46 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, the default period for executing the order is 30 days from the day after receipt of the order, unless a different period was agreed. This legal default is not a promise that every product needs 30 days.

Order updates and tracking

Use an email address and phone number that you can access and check that your delivery details are correct. We send the available order and dispatch information through the contact details supplied with the order. Where the selected delivery service provides tracking, we will share that information. If an order is split into more than one parcel, we will identify the remaining items.

Delays or unavailable products

We will notify you when we learn of a material delay and discuss the available options. A changed delivery date is not automatically an agreement that you must accept. If an electronic order is not executed within the agreed period, or the statutory 30-day period where no different period was agreed, section 46 allows cancellation on seven days’ written notice.

If we cannot fulfil an order because the goods are unavailable, we will notify you immediately and refund payments within 30 days of that notification, as required by section 46. We will not substitute a different model without your agreement.

Access and large appliances

Before delivery, tell us about stairs, access controls, narrow entrances or other information needed for the selected service. Check product dimensions against the intended space and access route. A request for special access arrangements is not confirmation that they are included; any additional service and its price must be agreed first.

Unpacking, wall mounting, plumbing, electrical work, installation and removal of an old appliance are included only when specifically agreed. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions and arrange a suitably qualified installer where the product or law requires one.

Receiving and checking your order

Arrange for you or your authorised recipient to receive the order. Check the item and packaging when reasonably possible and record visible damage or discrepancies with the delivery person. Signing for a parcel does not waive your statutory rights for concealed damage, defects or missing items.

The goods remain at our risk while they are being transported to you; handing a parcel to a courier does not itself transfer that risk to you. Delivery to you or your authorised recipient is subject to applicable law. We will handle a lost or damaged transit claim with the delivery service and keep you informed.

Missed delivery, address changes and returns

Contact us promptly if you need to correct an address or a delivery attempt fails. We will explain what can be changed and any reasonable, applicable redelivery cost before you agree to it. We will not charge you for a failed delivery caused by our own error.

Use our contact form for delivery help. Cancellation, incorrect deliveries and returns are explained in Returns and refunds. Nothing in this policy removes a right or remedy that you have under applicable South African law. Where a mandatory legal right gives you greater protection, that right applies.
